2011 JUNIOR GOLF
WEEKS 5 & 6
On week 6 the juniors finished one session at Magellan and then practice was canceled. All of the juniors were transported to the cart storage area and most were picked up before the rain hit. A few of us got soaked. Play was canceled Thursday July 14th. Jack made the right call to cancel at the right time.
Week 7 was the final practice before the big tournament. 50 juniors practiced at Granada and 80 juniors were at Magellan. The heat was still with us. 121 juniors played July 21. Chase Thornton had a great round of 66 for 18 holes and Kurren Neske had a 43 for 9 holes, very nice.
The tournament is July 27th and 28th. 121 players are scheduled for 15 flights. Total scores for both days will determine the champion of each flight. The picnic is set for July 28th at 6:00 PM. There are reservations for 375 juniors, family and volunteers.
Rick Racine will join as member of the Junior Golf Executive Board for 2012. The Junior Golf Association of Hot Springs Village is an all volunteer-run and operated 501(c3), federal and state charitable corporation. No Junior is turned away because of financial hardship.
Many thanks to all of the Hot Springs Village Golf Associations, the businesses that support Junior Golf, the private donors and all the volunteers that make it possible each year. 2012 will be the 15th year anniversary, so please volunteer and help make it special.
Thank you,
From the Executive Board
